Academics in the Honors Program
The Honors Program is designed for curious, motivated students in any major who want to go beyond the standard classroom experience.
At the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½°²×¿Æƽâ°æ, we’re proud to be among the top 5% of colleges and universities nationwide with a Carnegie R1 designation—a recognition of our commitment to excellence in research, innovation, and global impact. The University Honors Program builds on that legacy, offering students a chance to take their education even further.
A Different Kind of Academic Experience
Our courses are smaller, discussion-based, and focused on deeper engagement with the material, giving you more opportunities to connect with your professors and classmates.
Honors doesn’t replace your academic major, it enhances it. You’ll still get the full experience of your department while adding unique courses and projects that challenge you to grow, explore, and lead.
How You’ll Learn in Honors
- Honors Courses – Replace select freshman and sophomore courses with Honors equivalents that dig deeper into the subject matter.
- Cross-listed/Combined Courses – Take classes alongside other Honors students for a richer, more collaborative learning experience.
- Honors Contracts – Work one-on-one with faculty to create custom projects in non-Honors courses, allowing you to explore your passions in new ways.
From seminars that spark big ideas to research opportunities that let you follow your curiosity, Honors academics are all about giving you the freedom and support to make your education your own.
