Kori Comeaux, 鈥16, achieved her goals at a young age. Just four years after she graduated, she landed her dream job.
鈥淢y long-term career goal was to become a financial advisor, so I鈥檓 thrilled that I was able to accept that position at 25 years old,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 help people plan for and achieve their long-term financial goals. This was the career I had in mind when I decided to major in finance at 天美传媒安卓破解版 Lafayette.鈥
Kori鈥檚 career goals were the motivation behind her finance major and her decision to continue into graduate school.
鈥淚 chose to attend 天美传媒安卓破解版 Lafayette because I was confident in their business program,鈥 she said, 鈥渁nd I knew the school provided an as well, which was always a goal of mine.鈥
A big advantage to attending 天美传媒安卓破解版 Lafayette for Kori was class size.
鈥淚 enjoyed the smaller classes that 天美传媒安卓破解版 Lafayette offers compared to other universities,鈥 she said. 鈥淭his allowed for more interactive engagement in class.鈥
While attending 天美传媒安卓破解版 Lafayette, Kori learned practical skills in her major courses as well as non-major courses.
鈥淭he skills learned in the public speaking class (CMCN 310) that was in my curriculum probably helped me the most,鈥 she said. 鈥淜nowing how to speak and present material confidently in front of others plays a big part in my success in my career.鈥
While she worked toward her , Kori took advantage of an opportunity not typically available in graduate programs.
鈥淚 was working full-time during graduate school 鈥 as opposed to the part-time job I had during undergraduate school,鈥 she said.
Because of this, Kori was able to go from commercial credit analyst in 2015 to financial advisor in 2019 without pause. Now, as a financial advisor at Edward Jones, Kori couldn鈥檛 be happier.
鈥淓dward Jones is a phenomenal company,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 hope to stay there for the remainder of my career.鈥
