Dr. Stanek received her master’s and Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. She is also an affiliated faculty researcher with Arizona State University’s Research on Violent Victimization (ROVV) Lab. Her research focuses on criminal justice and societal responses to victims and victimization, specifically sexual assault and domestic violence. Her research also focuses on addressing the needs of Indigenous victims and reducing the Missing and Murder of Indigenous Peoples across the country. Her work takes a community-based participatory action approach to create policy and programming recommendations.
