Christy Sue joined the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½°²×¿Æƽâ°æ Lafayette faculty in 2008. She became a full-time Instructor in 2013. She received her A.S. in mathematics from Blinn College, Bryan, TX, in 2001. In 2004, she earned a B.S. in mathematics with a minor in statistics from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, TX. She then earned my M.S. in mathematics here at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½°²×¿Æƽâ°æ in 2008.

Christy Sue's original mathematical research was in mathematical history, graph theory and the mathematics of origami. Her mathematical interests now include Mathematical Teacher Education, Inquiry Based Learning, online learning, and using technology in the classroom. She has become somewhat obsessed with the broad range of mathematics used in games.

She has served as co-PI on an externally funded grant with the Department of Education, whose aim was to improve the mathematical content knowledge of rational numbers and diversify instructional practices for English Language Learners (ELLs) with in-service teachers. She also participated in a three week summer camp with ELL students ranging from Second grade to juniors in high school as a means of bettering their mathematical knowledge. She hopes to continue these types of projects.
