10-Minute Tech Talks

Each semester, the Instructional Support Team offers brief, actionable 10-Minute Tech Talks at 10 a.m. each Monday. The summer series will focus on Moodle updates and accessibility quick fixes. Faculty Development Courses

Faculty interested in advancing their knowledge and skill in online course development can enroll in one of our online ODL courses to gain valuable context and practical solutions for enhancement.  

In addition to two facilitated courses this semester, our asynchronous course, ODL 120: Designing Accessible Online Courses, is open for enrollment. The course provides an overview of WCAG guidelines and practical solutions for choosing and updating course materials — critical knowledge for state and federal mandate compliance.

ODL 120: Designing Accessible Online Courses

Asynchronous | 6-8 hours

Learn about accessibility guidelines and explore practical solutions for making different types of course materials and media resources accessible. Enroll by submitting a .  

ODL 220 Creating Interactive Learning Content for Engaging Students

Facilitated | June 16-29 | 8-10 hours

Review the benefits of various types of interactive content and activities, discuss how to create specific types of interactive content, and gain hands-on experience with creating different types of interactive content using various tools.

ODL 210 Beyond Design: Strategies for Online Course Delivery

Facilitated | July 7-20 | 8-10 hours

Learn the importance of steady, reliable communication in online courses, examine recommended classroom discussion methods, and address what constitutes effective feedback, how to deliver this feedback reliably to students, and how rubrics can be used as a feedback tool to enable student success. You’ll also learn how to identify and re-engage students and how to direct them to the support they need.
